David Labocki

Partner & Executive Designer

My love and passion for architecture stems from growing up in my father’s carpentry business. I have been loving getting to design homes, commercial buildings, and places of worship for over 20 years — so much so that in my free time, you will find me designing! I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of creatively using every space in design for the best functionality. I strongly believe that great creativity is the result of collaboration with our team and our clients. I always want our clients to feel like they are valued, cared for, and that we are invested in serving them with excellence.

What David won’t brag about but we will…

  • This isn’t his first rodeo – David ran a successful residential design firm called Labocki Design for 15 years.
  • He also spent 20 years as the lead designer at a Design-Build firm working on commercial, institutional, industrial, and interior build out designs.
  • He has won multiple Best of Akron awards for his custom residential home designs.

Fidei Architecture

Fidei Architecture was born out of great friendship, a passion for excellent design and a unique vision for client experience.

We are passionate about creating great designs that function well, but we feel our integrity is what sets us apart.  We care about our clients and strive to deliver a process that is transparent and accommodating.

Excellent design and an excellent experience requires an excellent team. Get to know our team — who, in turn, would  love to get to know you!

Marc Benedict

Partner & Registered Architect

I love to inject what I’ve learned over the past 15 years of my professional experience into the awesome things we’re doing at fidei . My background includes experience  in various facets of commercial R&D, office, retail, industrial, and residential architecture. I believe that being personable, loving people, and doing what is right, are the keys to an excellent client experience. I strive to create a team environment where everyone can contribute to the success of the task at hand.

What Marc won’t brag about but we will…

  • He holds a BAS in Architecture from Kent State.
  • He is a registered Architect who earned his stamp by completing his ARE exams in less than 4 months (a task that takes most architects over a year to complete).
  • He faithfully served his church as a Deacon for 3 years after being nominated by his peers.
  • While serving as a juror for a criminal trial, he was elected as the jury foreman by his fellow jurors.
  • He is a wiz at 3D visualization, Revit, strategic planning, project management, and partner development.

Shannon Mamajek | Architect

When a client can say they really enjoyed the design process, that is very gratifying! One of our clients once told me that being involved in our design process was one of the most exciting things she has ever done. That is pretty cool!

I take the final design of a project, and prepare construction documents with them, which is the “blueprint” that a contractor needs to build the design. I also do field measurements of existing properties for renovations and additions.

I really enjoy taking the details of a design, and making sure they are represented accurately all through the foundations, plans, and elevations.

Fun facts :

I love classic literature, and my dream home would have a huge library! I also like to listen to country music, and showtunes, and when I have the office to myself, I listen to Broadway musical soundtracks.

When I was in 7th grade, I wanted to be either an architect, or a veterinarian. I watched a cow having a C-section at OSU vet school, and it was then that I decided I would stick with architecture.

Shannon Benedict | Curator, Client experience \ business development

I think it is so important to make our clients feel excited about their project. They come to us with dreams of a new home, renovation, or addition. These are all really big, exciting things, and we get to be a part of making sure that they feel valued, special and cared for throughout the entire process. It’s fun watching their excitement grow as they move through the planning process, and it is pretty cool that we get to help bring their dreams and visions to life.

Fun fact :

I trained lions, tigers and bears before I started here!! I was a Zookeeper for 13 years, and worked with animals for a total of 20 years! It was an incredible job. I chased my dreams and got to live them out, working with so many awesome, intelligent, beautiful animals. It was such a blessing and privilege, and I’m so thankful that God gave me such a passionate heart for them. I miss those perfect creatures every day, but now I tend to our 2 cats, 1 dog, and 13 chickens at home! The best bonus is that I get to spend more time with my kids, and I work with my husband!!

erica adams | ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

As an intern for Fidei, I get to do a variety of jobs. I do research for new builds that come in, sit in on meetings to get a good idea of what a project will entail, and assist the partners in creating home additions. I also get to build projects on my own with their help. I really enjoy the environment here because we work hard, and we all work together to accomplish each project. The experience I am gaining will be invaluable for the future of my career. In the months I have been here, I feel that I have learned more about design and construction in the real world, than I have in almost my whole school career.

Fun facts :

I love being outside/adventuring any time I can.  My favorite holiday is Christmas. I have a big family that includes my mom, dad, and four siblings. I hope to own some type of Doodle mix one day, as that is my dream dog!!
